Dates: 14th - 17th August 2020
Location: Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire
This fabulous food festival was created for members of the hospitality industry: a space in which to “eat, drink, talk, dance, share, party, learn and celebrate”. It brings together like minded professionals with an aim to create new ideas, discuss challenges while providing support and most of all, to enjoy the very best the culinary world has to offer.
Chefs, farmers, restaurants, FOH, BOH, bakers, millers, makers, academics, producers, suppliers, speakers, artists…and 3,000 of them. This weekend is nothing if not a feast for the experts. Whether it’s discussing how soil nutrients can affect flavours or how to run a seriously good bar, this event is a joyful recognition of our epicurean pursuits.
Based in Duchess Farms near Bishop’s Stortford in Hertfordshire, PX+ Festival is still relatively new, but growing in reputation and popularity amongst those in the know. Its variety is one of its greatest attributes, where attendees can look forward to taking part in anything from a workshop about butchering British goat meat to one on one conversations about mental health with the PX+ Listens support team.
On top of all that talking, there’ll be eating: lots and lots of eating. Chefs from all over the world will apply their crafts, teaching and learning along the way, to mountains of fantastic produce supplied both locally and from further afield. Wines and cheeses, pastries and roasts… This is a gastronomic carnival like no other.
And there’s still more! If music be the food of love… There’s plenty of that too. Chef DJs (multi-talented folk that they are) will be playing sets throughout the weekend, providing a perfect soundtrack for your gourmet maneuvering. As with any self-respecting festival, an area is also set aside for spa and massage diversions, in case you need to take a step back from the banqueting.
Held, obviously, in the countryside, there’s any number of lovely places to stay, but best of all is to make the most of the luxury camping available on site. After days spent indulging in such pleasure-seeking activities, it’s only right that you treat yourself to an equally delightful billet. Keep your appetite piqued with nights in the fresh air, sleeping under canvas beneath the wide starry skies of the English countryside.
