Dates: 27th - 30th August 2020
Location: Nr.Newark, Lincolnshire
A mindboggling woodland experience, Lost Village lures people in for a weekend in an alternate universe. With outstanding electronic music, a clan of inspired, artistically costumed individuals and a dark fairytale setting, festival goers suspend time briefly as they dance the days away. With artists both international and local, beloved and new, the sounds emanating from the deep Lincolnshire countryside will blow your body and your mind.
Lost Village was created and curated by Moda Black bosses Jamyo and Andy George. Determined to sculpt a festival unlike any other, they put a huge amount of thought and planning into every aspect of the party. From the storyline to the location, numbers and line-ups, this affair was lovingly molded into an instant success. They offered mystery, surprise and adventure – and came through in spades.
Within the forest are a number of different stages for a well-considered range of electronic music – something to suit everyone – though with so many like-minds attending the crowd is hardly distinguishable. The Ruins – the main stage – is a sight to behold indeed. With headlining DJs such as Fatboy Slim, DJ Koze and Ben Klock, and live acts like Jack Garratt, Kink, Ame and Henrik Schwartz, guests are safe in the hands of professionals.
For experiences beyond the music, there are plenty presented – the Lost Theatre offers performances, films and talks, whilst the Lake of Tranquility will pamper the tired out of you – with hot tubs and saunas, aromatherapy and holistic massages, reflexology and beyond, this is an area to refuel your party spirit.
And for your further flights of fancy, you can expect dark magic, tribalizing, vintage stalls, games, secret performances, group workshops and much more. Fancy dress is an absolute must – and if you’re worried you’re not quite up to muster on that front – fear not, for they’ve got that covered too, at the Village Market – from golden bodysuits to sequined hats.
The décor of the forest is taken very seriously and will surpass your wildest expectations. By day, it’s covered in flags, dream catchers and hanging installations, and filled with ‘Villagers’ – in full woodland attire – running riot with your mind. By night, it comes alive, as all the lights shine out through the branches, with laser beams cutting through the leaves and fog machines, creating bizarre silhouettes. An aesthetic celebration of shadow and smoke.
To complete your sensory journey, delectable culinary options are available to suit every palate. Tribal banquets, The Cheese Truck, Spit&Roast Luardos, Le Bun, Good & Proper Tea – these are just a few names on their ‘glorious food’ page.
Needless to say, this is an over-18 party only. No accommodations or preparations have been made for children.
The countryside of Lincolnshire is very beautiful, and its woodland a magnificent dream world in which to set a festival. It’s unlikely that you’ll want to leave the forest once you’ve entered, but should you need a break, you’re not too far from Lincoln, which has a few fascinating attractions of its own – the historic monuments of the cathedral and castle are quite incredible, for instance.
Glamping at Lost Village is, we think, essential. Rent a fantastic bell tent and their well-appointed, stylish interiors will allow you to keep your magical story alive whilst ensuring you can get some rest in pure comfort. Affordable luxury camping is the best way to ensure you get the most out of your festival weekend.
